Corrections Policy

Referencing guidance is detailed and changes over time. We welcome corrections supported by reliable evidence.

Email contact@harvardreferencegenerator.co.uk and include:

• the URL of the affected page;
• the wording, format or function believed to be wrong;
• the correct information;
• a link to the current official source;
• the date on which that source was accessed; and
• screenshots or a reproducible example where relevant.

We consider:

• whether the cited source is authoritative and current;
• whether the issue concerns a general Harvard convention or a specific institutional variant;
• whether the report can be reproduced;
• whether the proposed correction would create a conflict elsewhere; and
• whether the issue affects generated output, explanatory text or both.

Minor correction

Spelling, broken links, typographical errors or wording that does not change the substantive rule may be corrected without a public notice.

Substantive correction

A change to a citation structure, university requirement, legal-source format or material factual statement should be reviewed against current evidence. A short correction note may be added where the previous information may have materially affected users.

Urgent correction

Content that creates a serious privacy, security, legal or academic-integrity risk may be removed or amended immediately while the wider review continues.

Submitting a correction does not guarantee that the proposed wording will be adopted. We may ask for further evidence or use different wording to reflect variations between styles.

Where appropriate and with permission, we may acknowledge a contributor. We will not publish a reporter's personal details without consent.
